Tibet Everest base camp tour, Tibet Everest base camp trek, Lhasa Everest base camp tour, Tibet Everest base camp trip, Everest base camp overland trip – An exploration of awesome Tibetan culture and views of the incredible Kangshung face of Everest and the world’s highest situated Ronbuk Monastery.

Tibet Everest base camp tour involves driving form kathmandu to Tibet Rogbouk monastery offering some breathtaking Tibetan mountain with dramatic high pass, beautiful lakes, amazing views of Mt. Everest and hiking trip up to base camp. First day drive to Nyalam and stay over night there for acclimatization. We further drive to Everest base camp via Tingri crossing breathtaking pass (5050m). Hike up to Everest base camp and spend the night at base camp. After exploring Everest base camp further drive to Lhasa via beautiful and historical cites, blue lakes, old monastery and real Tibetan villages. Reach Lhasa, two full days sightseeing with our guide in cities including Potala palace, Norbulikha palace, Jokhang temple, Sera monastery and Derpung monastery. End of your trip our guide and driver will transfer to airport for your onward flight.

Itinerary

    Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu in the afternoon and transfer to our hotel.

    Day 02: Breakfast at hotel in morning & today there is a half-day sightseeing tour visiting the swayambhunath Darshan,. temples of Baudnath and Pashupatinath.

    Dat 03: Early morning transfer to the airport, and board the plane for the flight over the Himalayas to Lhasa.  Gonggar airport (which is 90 km. from Lhasa),

    Day 03/04/05 SIGHTSEEING: These three days are spent in Lhasa.

    Day 06 LHASA – GYANTSE: You begin your overland adventure with a full day drive to Gyantse.

    Day 07 GYANTSE – SHIGATSE:  In the morning visit Gyantse stupa and monastery followed by a two hour drive to Shigatse. Shigatse,

    Day 08 SHIGATSE – LHATSE: For lunch we stop in the small town of Lhatse . Depending on how much time we spend during the morning in Shigatse we might stay overnight in Lhatse. Altitude 4350m. /4000m

    Day 09 LHATSE – ROMBUK: After a few more kilometers on the Friendship Highway we leave the main road and drive along a rough track for about four hours to Rongbuk (85 km.).

    Day 10 ROMBUK – LAO TINGRI: Get up early and start the 2-3 hour leisurely walk (one way) to the base-camp (5200m) itself.

    Day 11 LAO TINGRI – ZHANG MU – KATHMANDU: After watching the sunrise over the Himalayas we head towards the Nepal border. In the evening relax in Kathmandu.

Detail Itinerary

    Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu in the afternoon and transfer to our hotel.

    Day 02: Breakfast at hotel in morning & today there is a half-day sightseeing tour visiting the swayambhunath Darshan,. temples of Baudnath and Pashupatinath. Baudnath is one of the largest Buddhist Stupas in the world and home to a large Tibetan refugee population, whilst Pashupatinath is the most important Hindu temple in the country. The tour will end at lunchtime and there will be time in the afternoon for individual exploration of the Durbar Square area of Kathmandu , with its all- seeing eyes of Buddha overlooking the whole valley. There will also be a trip briefing today. Hotel.

    Dat 03: Early morning transfer to the airport, and board the plane for the flight over the Himalayas to Lhasa. If the weather is clear there is a spectacular view of Everest, Kanchenjunga and other peaks en route. On arrival at Gonggar airport (which is 90 km. from Lhasa), we meet our vehicle and drive east .After checking in to our hotel, we drive south to explore the followings:
    Oldest building in Tibet, and monasteries.
    (Today’s drive is a total of approximately 130 km.) Hotel.

    Day 03/04/05 SIGHTSEEING: These three days are spent in Lhasa, the religious, cultural and economic centre of Tibet. One of the highlights is the visit to the symbol of Tibet, the Potala Palace set high on Red Hill, the winter home of the Dalai Lama until 1959.in Lhasa we visit the Potala palace, Drepung and Sera monasteries, the Norbulinka and of course the famous Jokhang temple including the surrounding Barkhor.

    Day 06 LHASA – GYANTSE: Gyantse is an attractive town dominated by the great fortress captured and destroyed by the British during their incursion into Tibet in the early years of this century. You begin your overland adventure with a full day drive to Gyantse. Along the way you cross the Kamba la (4794m) and the Karo la pass (5010m), both grant spectacular views. After the Kamba la you come to Yamdrok tso, also known as the Turquoise lake. You’ll want to have your camera ready. Altitude 3900m.

    Day 07 GYANTSE – SHIGATSE: This will be a busy day. In the morning visit Gyantse stupa and monastery followed by a two hour drive to Shigatse. Shigatse, Tibet’s second largest town at 3900m. Shigatse is situated near the junction of the Ngang and Yarlung Tsangpo (Brahmaputra) Rivers, with many traditional low ceiling, flat roofed, mud brick Tibetan houses, but quite a lot of ugly modern Chinese buildings as wel. Here see the giant Buddha in the famous Tashilumpo monastery. It’s a friendly and peaceful place, home of the Tashilhunpo monastery, traditional seat of the Panchen Lama, and one of the great centers of Tibetan Buddhism. Altitude 3800m

    Day 08 SHIGATSE – LHATSE: The journey today brings you over two high passes with fine views. For lunch we stop in the small town of Lhatse . Depending on how much time we spend during the morning in Shigatse we might stay overnight in Lhatse. Altitude 4350m. /4000m

    Day 09 LHATSE – ROMBUK: After a few more kilometers on the Friendship Highway we leave the main road and drive along a rough track for about four hours to Rongbuk (85 km.). However, the scenery is breathtaking as we pass through small villages and then climb to a pass, the Pang La at 5,220 m., from where, on a clear day, we have a magnificent panorama of Everest, Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Gyachung Kang and Makulu. Monks and nuns living at Rongbuk speak some English, learnt through contact with foreigners, and are generally very friendly. There is time in the afternoon to explore the area and visit the monastery. We camp near the monastery for the night, at around 5000m! Altitude 5050m., hotel

    Day 10 ROMBUK – LAO TINGRI: Get up early and start the 2-3 hour leisurely walk (one way) to the base-camp (5200m) itself. If road conditions and river levels permit we drive back to the main road a different way avoiding the Pang La. This road takes us through picturesque villages and rolling hills to our camp at Old Tingri. On a clear day we have excellent sunset views of many Himalayan giants from Old Tingri. (If the rivers are high and the road unpassable we have to return to the main road the same way we came over the Pang La). Camping. Lao Tingri is a small Tibetan town that offers the best view even from a toilet that you’re unable to experience from anywhere in the world. Altitude 4200 m., hotel

    Day 11 LAO TINGRI – ZHANG MU – KATHMANDU: After watching the sunrise over the Himalayas we head towards the Nepal border. Scenically, this is one of the most spectacular days of the trip .Make sure you have some photos left for the panoramic view of the Himalayan range as you cross the Lalung la pass (5050m). In the evening relax in Kathmandu.
