Buddha was born some 2500 years ago in Lumbini in the southern Nepal.Lumbini is the greatest pilgrimmage site for all the Buddhists from all over the world.Lumbini today houses the pond where Buddha was bathed after he was born and a temple which has images of young Buddha with his mother.There is also a Stone pillar which is one of such many pillars put by the famous Indian emperor Ashoka to mark the important sites related to Buddha’s life.In an excavation made few years ago more objets of historical importance were discovered whichare in display for all. Besides there are many stupas in Lumbini made by many Buddhist countries of the world—Thailand, China , Sri Lanka, Japan, Myanmar and many more.

There are many Buddhists all over Nepal and hence Buddhist monuments are all over Nepal.In Kathmandu valley we have 2000 years old impressive stupa of Swoyambhunath and world’s biggest stupa at Bouddhanath.The Bouddhanath stupa is 1500 years old and is more popular among the many Tibetan refugees living in Kathmandu .Inside the Kathmandu valley the city of Patan is dominantly Buddhists and has places like Mahabouddha Temple and Hiranya Varna Mahavihar to show you.On the outskirt of Kathmandu in the hill is the stupa of Namobuddha, small but old, active and highly revered.
This tour will take you to these Buddhist sites and also to few more while travelling inside the city .We will also take you to the peaceful and beautiful lake city of Pokhara. Here you can see the tremendous view of the Himalayas , vist the world peace stupa and go for boating in the cool lake water.Finally you will have free time to shop a great number of Buddhist objects which you may not find in your home country.
Day01: Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day02: Visit to Boudhanath and Kopan monastry.
Day03: Visit Swayambhunath, Museum of natural history, Patan durbar square.
Day04: Visit Pharping Monastery, Bhaktapur.
Day05: Drive to Namoboudha , drive to Nagarkot.
Day06: Sunrise view from Nagarkot and flight to Bhairahawa.
Day07: Visit to Tilaurakot, Kapilvastu .
Day08: Fly back to Kathmandu.
Day09: Trasnser to airport and fly back.
Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu International airport, we welcome you and transfer to hotel. O/N Kathmandu.
Day 02: After breakfast, visit Boudanath and Kopan Monastery. Kopan Monastery was founded by Lama Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rimpoche in 1970 as a center of Buddhist Teachings. Meet Senior Lama and orientation on Buddhism at Kopan Monastery. O/N Kathmandu.
Day 03: After breakfast, Visit Swayambhunath, the oldest Buddhist Stupa in Nepal which is located at a hilltop from where you can see the magneficent view of Kathmandu valley.The surroundings of the Swoyambhunath are covered with small Chaityas monasteries as well as some Hindu temples. The National Museum and the Museum of Natural History are situated at the foot of the hill. Afternoon visit Patan durbar square and Hiranya Varna Bihar, Mahaboudha temple and Buddhist sites in Patan. O/N Kathmandu.
Day 04: After breakfast, visit Pharping Monastery. The Buddhist history says, Milerapa from Tibet took one night shelter in the cave, and accordingly blessed this monastery. Hindus have their version that it was Pancha Pandav who had visited this place. O/N Kathmandu.
Day 05: After breakfast drive to Bhaktapur. See around the ancient city of Bhadgaun, the finest architectural city. In the afternoon drive to hill station of Nagarkot from where you see the magnificent view of Himalayas. O/N Nagarkot.
Day 06: Wake up early for the magnificent sunrise view. After breakfast, drive to Namoboudha(45 Km), Buddhists call it “Tagmologin”, the famous Buddhist spot, where Lord Buddha (on 7th re-incarnation) sacrificed his body to hungry Tigress and its cubs. O/N Kathmandu.
Day 07: After breakfast fly to Bhairahawa and a short drive to Lumbini. Tour of the Sacred Garden, visit the site of broken Asoka pillar, remnants of an old manastery,images of Budha’s mother Mayadevi and many more. Practice offerings at the stupas. O/N Lumbini.
Day 08: After brekfast visit Tilaurakot the birthplace of Lord Buddha, the apostle of peace, compassion non-violence.Tilaurakot (25kms) to the west is the ancient capital of Kapilvastu, the Kingdom of the Sakya Dynasty.Visit secred Garden where Lord buddha was born,Mayadevi temple and Puskarani pond where Buddha’s mother took bath before giving birth to little Buddha.In the evening retun back to Lumbini and visit Monastery Zone and the Lumbini Village. O/N Lumbini .
Day 09: After breakfast drive back to Bhairahawa airport. Fly back to Kathmandu, rest of the day free for shopping around Boudhanath.O/N Kathmandu.
Day 10: After Breakfast transfer to Airport, depending on your departure schedule.
